Before we developed the strength to pull ourselves up to a bar ( if we ever did ) we first learned how to hang and explored various ways of swinging and brachiating Brachiation/swinging . Observing how animals move and understanding basic anatomy and biomechanics we quickly come to the conclusion that our hands are made to hang and grip aka climb and swing. Looking even further we see that our hips and shoulders are the most complex joints in our body. Our joints need “ movement food” in all its variety. While gym bros do isolation exercises to grow forearms they can barely complete a 60 sec hang let alone coordinate their mass in any Brachiation / swing type complex. We live in a world pandemic of shoulder and low back pain. Imagine living in a body fighting against gravity all its life and never getting that friendly gravity help you STRETCH. The art of Brachiating is my red pill to phenomenal grip strength, shoulder health and resilience while having a ton of fun becoming a more complete mover.
